In order for people to understand just what is going on in this country, they need to come to learn the meaning of one particular term: Collectivism. Collectivism is described as the reverse of individualism. To understand what that means lets look at the meaning of individualism. Individualism is the outlook that emphasizes the moral worth of the individual, it promotes the exercise of allowing one to reach for their own individual goals. So if Collectivism is the opposite of that it is not a good a thing. In a nutshell Collectivism brings the individual under the control of the group. So what does that mean for me, for you, for all of us living in this great country; the land of the free, well sort of, maybe, at least it was free at one point.
Collectivism takes the stance that the Constitution is irrelevant and old fashioned. Right now there are government officials trying to take away our basic rights, but do not worry it is for the betterment of all of us (so they say). Our Constitution gives us the right to freedom of speech, the right to freedom to choose or not choose a religion, the right to defend ourselves, and the right to be secure in our own persons. These are not the only rights afforded to us by our founding fathers but right now at this specific time these are the ones under the most attack, why? It is simple with these gone we are left helpless and completely under their control.
Thanks to advances in technology “progress” we now have no privacy, we are in fact recorded everywhere we go, every phone call, every computer, email, credit card purchase, everything we do is recorded. Now I have been told what does this matter? Why should we care if we are doing nothing wrong? To those people I say, shame on you. The right to privacy is essential to our well being. Think on this, lawmakers need their jobs, their job is to make laws so everyday they are thinking of new laws to make and with each new law more of our rights disappear. Right now we can say what we want (just barely) however if things continue like this we will not be able to speak our minds, what is legal now will not be tomorrow. When we can no longer simply speak our minds not only do we live in fear but we shut down mentally. So yeah, I’ll take that right to privacy, please and thank you.
The Affordable Care Act is a Collectivists wet dream. Do you smoke, drink, have thoughts of loneliness, ever get angry, are you two pounds overweight, underweight, are you a Republican or a Democrat, do you own a weapon? Every single one of those things is said to be on the agenda to ask you at your next doctor’s visit. And guess what, they will be used against you any way they possible can. Why do you think that all records have to be on computer now? In order for the IRS, or another government agency to collect any and every bit of information about you. Your doctors visits are going to be quite an uncomfortable experience from now on. You can plead the Fifth but I doubt that will go over well in the long run.
Speaking of shutting down mentally I have heard the term “dumbing down” quite often lately. Right now schools are systematically leaving the truth out of books and required assignments. Just recently I read about a school who left out the whole civil war part of the Gettysburg Address. Basically the teachers are teaching the students about Lincoln’s speech but leaving out the whole reason behind it. Why would they do that? It is to dumb us down, to dumb our children down to the point that the only things people know is “work, sleep, eat and noting more. Kind of like a Borg, very robotic, thoughtless, emotionless life. It is the same reasons for the war on religion that the Christians are facing right now. The government no longer wants you to think for yourself, to form opinions, to have hope and faith. Our children are being bred to become slaves and the rest of us are so busy with the technology in our face that we can hardly see it.
It is not just this great country that is in trouble it is almost all of society in the world over. But my country was founded on freedom by great men with great intentions which is why I am so upset by it. Collectivism is scooping up each and every one of those freedoms one by one and I feel helpless as I can do nothing but watch.
