Questions to Ask Before Planning an Outdoor Marriage Proposal

by fat vox

So you have met the love of your life and the time to tie the knot has come. You spent an unforgivable amount of money on the engagement ring and as the gentleman you are, got permission from your future father-in-law to join the family. Since this is an event you only want to happen once, you have to get it perfect. An outdoor marriage proposal is always a unique adventure dependent on many factors. To make the most of this memorable occasion, you need to plan it out by asking a few important questions.

What Will Make Her Jaw Drop?

Hooking the ball and chain to your leg in the form of a wife must mean you know everything about her. By this point you should know what will shock her with joy. True adrenaline junkies would want to seize the perfect opportunity when a heart is pounding at its most. A moment skydiving, bungee jumping, or less tame on a roller coaster are all unique and unexpected that could thrill her.

What Is Most Realistic?

Not everyone climbs Mount Everest each weekend making an outdoor marriage proposal less rural and more urban. There are still plenty of options you can use in your own town. Common trends used now by grooms-to-be are Flash Mobs. These are groups of people who will act as background characters, but are really only there to break out into random choreographed song and dance at the appropriate time. Seemingly coming out of nowhere, a Flash Mob will catch your future fiancé off guard. What was once an event only taking place in movies now happens on an almost daily basis in major cities across the country.

Where Is Her Dream Location?

Vacations are a great place to propose as long as you get the “yes.” Flying back home after a “no” might not be much fun. On a foreign beach, at a historical location, or just near a notable landmark with some meaning to you both are all locations you should consider getting down on one knee.

What Other Things Have People Done?

While you want to maintain some originality to your proposal, researching other outdoor proposals will not hurt. Parks, sporting events, and other places that can draw a larger crowd in are all places commonly used for proposing marriage.

Remember in the end the best thing you can is get to know your future wife better and what she would want. Who would she want around? Would she want it taped? Is this something she would rather have done only with you around? Follow your instincts and pray it does not rain.
