April will be a big month for Redbox users, with over thrity-five DVD’s and blu-rays being added to their kiosks. Here’s a peek at some of the up and coming attractions, which you will soon be able to rent for only a $1 a day!
Crazy Enough (Release Date: April 9th)
Chris Kattan plays both Fred and Teddy Mulberry, identical twins that are separated at birth. One twin is a successful psychologist and the other has lived in a mental hospital his entire life. The two brothers do the infamous twin switcheroo we have seen in countless films, and the psychologist moves into the hospital while his loony brother takes on his role as a psychologist out in the real world. This 104 minute comedy is rated PG, because of some minor language and some mature humor.
Straight A’s (Release Date: April 9th)
Ryan Phillippe, Luke Wilson, and Anna Paquin star in this ‘R’ rated drama about a drug addict who returns to his home-town after feeling pressured by the ghost of his dead mother. When he returns to Shreveport, he throws everyone for a loop, especially his brother and sister-in-law who become entangled in a bizarre love triangle with him. The film does contain some bad language and drug use, and is intended for older viewers.
Life of Pi (Release Date: April 9th)
If you’ve been dying to see this popular movie, now is the time! It will be available on DVD and blu-ray at all Redbox kiosks on April 9th. In the movie a writer visits Pi Patel and asks him to share his life story. Pi starts the story with his childhood in India where his father owns a zoo. One day his father told him they would be moving to Canada and selling their zoo animals. On the way to Canada their ship is destroyed in a storm, and Pi is stranded on a life-boat with several wild animals (an orangutan, tiger, hyena, etc), the young boy must then find a way save himself and the zoo animals.
Django Unchained (Release Date: April 16th 2013)
This film is another one of Quentin Tarantino’s masterpieces. A star-studded cast made up of Jamie Foxx, Kerry Washington, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Samuel L Jackson act out Tarantino’s bizarre story of an ex-slave and a German bounty hunter on a mission to save his wife.
Revelation Road: The Beginning of the End (Release Date: April 16th 2013)
Revelation Road will provide you with 88 minutes of action-packed drama when a traveling salesman finds himself at war with an outlaw biker gang called The Barbarians in a small town in Texas. The cast includes: David A.R. White, Logan White, Brian Bosworth, Jen Lilley, and Eric Roberts.
Les Miserables (Release Date: April 19th 2013)
If you missed the remake of the critically acclaimed musical when it was in theaters, you can watch it in your own living room on April 19th. Anne Hathaway, Amanda Seyfried, Hugh Jackman, and Russell Crowe blew movie-goers away with their portrayals of their characters in post-revolutionary France.
Parental Guidance (Release Date: April 23rd 2013)
Bette Midler is still turning out hits, alongside Billy Crystal and Marisa Tomei in this family-friendly comedy. Bette and Billy play the parts of “old-school” grandparents who are trying to care for their wild and modern grandkids while their parents are out of town.
