Obedience to the Lord led her to California twelve years earlier where she met and married Malcolm, and gave birth to their daughter. Her world shatters when a detective shows up at her business one day. He claims to have evidence that could possibly link her to an ex-boyfriend s murder ten years ago in her home town. Secrets about her past unfold and cast shadows over her pure reputation in the church and with Malcolm s family. When the news is revealed, Malcolm’s older brother Corbin and his wife Stacie step up efforts to win Corbin his father s seat as the next pastor. Stacie’s friend Maxie, who has a long-time attraction to Malcolm, enters the picture at the wrong time and causes a love triangle by trying to sway Malcolm her way. Will Khadesia’s and Malcolm’s faith and trust in God remain steadfast through the crises in their lives.
A Generation Of Curses Book Review:
Congratulations to Patricia Bridewell and Faatima Albasir- Johnson for writing a wonderful Christian Fiction Suspense Book “A Generation of Curses.” The overture is rampant , where we first read that Khadesia simply mistaken or pointed as a villain. The question for the reader is Kadesia guilty of a dreadful, gruesome crime of homicide in the death of her ex-boyfriend? She had a hard time of convincing the detectives, police officers and even her fellow cell mates. How will she declare her innocence to the court systems while resting behind the prison walls. She tried her best to keep her good judgment, bring together the pieces, and open up about her past tragedy the split second Laron was shot and lay in his own blood. In this story you have a woman who was a victim of domestic violence. She was physically and verbally abused by her ex- boyfriend Laron who doesn’t trust her. Their relationship is very toxic. He is a jealous lover who accuses her of cheating and watching her in the darkness. Later on in her life, Khadesia started her life over in another state where she married the man of her dreams Malcolm Hill who is the assistant Pastor of Solid Rock Ministries. A Generation Of Curses is about family, mystery and conflict of power. Khadesia’s past family history caused a lot of controversy in her current life because she would never wanted to deal with them. You definitely must read this book to help you understand that running from your problems will only causes catastrophe. This book was enjoyable to read with the well developed characters and the storyline twists and turns. There were so many suspenseful, entertaining and the right amount of drama for a Christian Fiction book. Mindful of the tug-of-war between Malcolm and his older brother Corbin in regards to passing the Pastor’s position to the next best man; the second son versus the first born of the family. Stacie who is married to Malcom’s brother Corbin doesn’t want to be a stay-home mother and neither does Corbin want to step into the Pastor leadership both are pushing each other into roles they really do not want to partake in. Stacie who is Malcolm’s sister-in-law, really beieves that Corbin should be next in line to take his father’s position as the Pastor of Solid Rock Christian Ministies. Stacie put a plan in motion to place her husband in the pulpit while she looking for her spot as First Lady. Usually when a person wants something really bad they often make confusion and Stacie is no different at all. That’s why it is important that we put God first in everything that we do.
I love the way how both authors show us how so many women have similar stories about abusive relationships. In the introduction chapter, the writing has conviction, emotion rendered to get into the mindset of Khadesia how she felt. There are suspense and mystery that is heightened from the beginning of this book. You have Mother Hill, who is the first lady, the mother of Malcolm and Corbin. Her character believes in training a child the way they should go in which was her favorite quote and scripture. She taught these young girls in the Church how to be a classy lady. She didn’t only criticize them on the way how they dress but she decided to teach a class about being classy. You shouldn’t only talk about it but you need to do something about it. The Authors creatively linked these characters and nearly connect to each one in a different viewpoint. This is a well written story that I couldn’t put this book down. I love the plot from the beginning to the end.
