The “Revolution” episode “The Patriot Act” introduced yet another untrustworthy doctor. In addition to Rachel’s traitorous dad, Dr. Porter, there is now Dr. Calvin Horn. This Patriot doctor may prove to be even more of a threat than Rachel’s dad. Oh, and Monroe’s not dead! Here’s what happened with Dr. Horn and the rest of the ragtag team of survivors, in case you missed it!
After being “killed” in the previous episode, Monroe comes back to life. Rachel helped Monroe trick the authorities and fake his death by pumping him full of barbiturates. Because he was given such a high dose of drugs, he will be weak for a few days, so Rachel hides him in an abandoned house outside of town. By saving Monroe, Rachel also reconnects with Charlie.
Meet. Dr. Horn
Dr. Horn is a senior science advisor for the government, and also used to work under Rachel when she worked for Randall Flynn. Given his past encounters with Rachel, it’s no surprise that Dr. Horn is so interested nanotech. When Horn starts asking questions that could lead him to Aaron, Rachel wants to find a way to keep Aaron safe from this government doc. Rachel’s dad steps in, and offers to hide Aaron and Cynthia in his wagon when he goes out on a medicine run.
Rachel’s dad gets a flashback
In a flashback to seven years after the blackout, Rachel’s dad is seen burning the bodies of a group of cholera victims. Among the bodies is Dr. Porter’s own wife. A strange man offers him an unlimited supply of life-saving medicines in exchange for his loyalty, and Dr. Porter takes him up on the deal.
Aaron is the prize
Dr. Horn confronts Dr. Porter, and demands access to Aaron…or else he’ll start killing the residents of Willoughby. Aaron and Cynthia try to make a break for it, but get stopped by government troops. Monroe kills some of the troops with his machete, while Aaron kills a few more with his fire powers. Unfortunately, Cynthia thinks Aaron’s powers are disturbing.
Tom and Jason
Meanwhile, Tom is still trying to deprogram Jason. For a while, it seems as though Jason has been un-brainwashed. He kills some Patriot soldiers to appease his father, but it is possible that he isn’t totally cured yet. Tom decides it is time to move his revenge plot forward, and pumps his secretary sidekick for information about her husband, who is part of the Patriot high command.
“Revolution” airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. on NBC.
