First, a person logs into the site and select what type of music they are into so the person can judge music they like. I did a lot of research before joining the site and I was told to select everything so there will be enough music to critique. I clicked nearly everything and it worked out well for me because I can tolerate most music.
The songs begin immediately and the person doesn’t have to listen to the entire song. Only the first 90 seconds of a song is required and the review can be written during the 90 seconds. It is a little difficult to listen to a song and critique it at the same time so it usually takes me the whole song (3 to 4 minutes). So the song plays and after 90 second the review is written and the song is given a number score out of 10 and then the money is given.
Second, good reviews are essential because it is the difference between .06 cents a review to nearly .20 cents a review. Usually 5-8 good sentences will give a good payout and it is important to use terminology. Knowing about music is the best, but knowing some terminology and using it well is just as good. I started to get .15 to .19 cents after my second visit to the site. Touching base on the lyrics, studio quality, radio hit potential among others are the best way to make the most money. Bad reviews lack substance and real critique. Saying, “that was a great song and it’s going to be a hit” is a bad review.
Third, They type of music played is mostly pop music that can be imagined already on the radio, at least from listening to San Diego, CA radio. I heard some hip hop and punk rock as well as music not really categorized. The music sounds good for the most part and some of it sounds like music from artists who are already popular.
Fourthly, the pay is the most important so let us jump into the pay. Although there is a starting base of .02 cents, be not afraid because it is unlikely that payout will ever occur. My first review was very short and I still made .06 cents. The lowest I have had was .05 cents and the highest was .19 cents and I tend to linger around .16 cents.
Finally, the difficulty of slicethepie is more on the hard side because cash out is $10 and right now I around $3. I don’t like sitting around listening to 20 songs to make $1.50 or $2 because I tend to listen to the whole song. If it was possible for me to write reviews in 90 seconds then I may not think it was so difficult. Either way, I am going to continue until I reach $10 and I am able to cash out. If anyone is interested or likes to review music and wants to get paid to do it, I have the link throughout this review so check it out. I will update this review or write another one when I get my $10.
