Small Bathroom Storage Tips

by fat vox

Whenever I use a small bathroom space, I always think of two things-one: too bad they couldn’t make this space bigger and two: where do they put all of their stuff? A small bathroom space always tends to be packed with junk-there are always too many things and not enough space. But there is hope for a small bathroom space. If you use the right storage solutions, you’re bound to save on precious space and help open up your already cramped small bathroom. Use these clever bathroom storage tips and get the most out of your small bathroom.

Wall Space

One of the most important parts of a small bathroom space is its walls. Built in cabinet space is the way to go for the ultimate in storage. A complete floor to ceiling wall filled with shelving might take up a bit of space so you’ll want to limit lots of built in shelving and try to keep most of it above your head to maximize the space with storage solutions. Alcoves built into unused portions of cabinets, between walls and behind doors can also work extremely well for storage spaces in a small bathroom.

Towel Tower

Towels are a big pain in the butt and they take up a lot of space, both clean and dirty. I’ll address the dirty ones in a minute, but for now, let’s talk about the clean ones. A towel tower is the perfect way to store-and display-all of your towels. It also keeps them close at hand for guests. Cut out drywall on both sides of wall partitions for a unique place to store towels.

Wheel in Caddy

A good way to keep your bathroom free from all you clutter is to use a wheeled caddy to keep all of your everyday supplies close at hand when you are using them. Once you’re done, wheel them into the closet in the other room so they are out of the way until you need them.

Baskets

Dirty laundry, toilet paper, spare towels, hair dryers-you get the drill. All of this stuff can easily go into stackable wicker baskets. These cost effective storage devices not only keep you stuff out of the way, it also helps to decorate the place. Talk about killing two birds with one stone.

Accessory Station

You don’t have to put on all of your makeup, jewelry and other accessories in the bathroom. Take all of your unnecessary bathroom supplies and dedicate an accessory station area in your room. It could be as simple as a mirror above a computer desk to help free up a small bathroom space.

Pegs and Hooks

Towels, clothes and other bathroom accessories can all hang from a hook on the wall, behind a door or in the shower. Hooks and pegs are a must have storage solution for any small bathroom space.
