Sneak Peek Review of the Christmas DVD ‘Thomas & Friends: Santa’s Little Engine’

by fat vox

“Thomas and Friends: Santa’s Little Engine” will be sneak-peek reviewed in this article. This is Lionsgate’s and HiT Entertainment’s newest release starring the tank engine that hails from the Island of Sodor. I was provided a review copy of this product by the makers, but my below observations haven’t been influenced by them.

Thomas and his friends show off their work abilities during the holiday season of snow and cold

Over the course of five episodes, Thomas and his fellow steam and diesel engines have to deal with some tough Christmas and wintertime challenges in order to prove they are useful engines. First, in “Santa’s Little Engine,” Sir Topham Hatt wants his personal rail car Winston to be dressed up like a sleigh to get him around while he acts like Santa, but it’s not considered acceptable to the Earl of Sodor, who gets him an actual sleigh, and it’s Thomas’ job to fetch it and to do something else to help pass off Sir Topham Hatt as ol’ St. Nick.

The next episode in this video sees Thomas act bratty over having to wear a snowplow, so he misplaces it so as not to have to use it, but that action makes him to miss out on the wintertime fun in “No Snow for Thomas.” In “The Frozen Turntable,” the haughty Gordon refuses to sleep in other sheds after the turntable at Tidmouth Sheds becomes frozen, so he goes against his orders and returns there to sleep, which causes him to miss out on his next day’s duties. The fourth episode, “The Missing Christmas Decorations,” sees the diesels act out on their perceived slight of not getting any Christmas decorations by going around and taking the ones meant for the steam engines.

Finally, in “Snow Tracks,” Gordon tries to prove that he’s the strongest and best engine by taking on very icy tracks, but his pride causes him embarrassment and inconvenience. The bonus features for this DVD “Thomas & Friends: Santa’s Little Engine,” include “Sir Topham Hatt’s Frosty Friend Game” and “Guess Who? Puzzles.” Using the continuous-play mode will allow viewers to see Driver Perkins read a story and answer some fan mail.

This latest tank engine release will get kids into the Christmas spirit

Over the course of 59 minutes, viewers will see more non-stop action and snappy animation full of holiday and snowy scenes which not only entertains, but deals with such feelings like jealousy, pride, and rebellion. Such feelings are dealt with in a respectful way and in a fashion that small kids can relate to. I recommend this latest “Thomas & Friends” product.

This video can be heard in English, Spanish, and French and has a Suggested Retail Price of $14.98. It will be available on October 8. For more information about the tank engine, go to this website
