Sony Moves Up with Xperia Z1

by fat vox

So I finally got hold of the Xperia Z1 from market stores today and I have to say that it is definitely worth the money. In my experience, the phone has proven itself to be a truly remarkable device. Sony has outdone itself this time.

Despite everything, the Z1 has an excellent display system. The 20.8 megapixel camera gifted to the phone has impressed me. It can take quick photographs whenever wanted and captures images that last seconds in milliseconds. Speed is not all the camera has to offer, its high resolution makes it nearly impossible for any picture to appear in a blur. Down to the every big or small bubble in a glass of water, the Sony Xperia Z1 has never failed in capturing each and every detail in its storage where it can be viewed in its best form.

The display and camera alone are not what has impressed me. Sony has taken its generation of Xperia phones to the next level by presenting the Xperia Z1 with a quad-core processor. However it is not the 1.2 GHz or 1.6 GHz processor found in most quad-core phones. It contains four cores, each providing 2.2 GHz of speed to maximize the phones performance. Instantly apps are loaded and even the largest of games on the Google Play Store such as Modern Combat 4: Zero Hour, which has top quality graphics and display, run very smoothly on the phone. There is no questioning the speed with which the phone runs the games. It is very well on its way to being classified as a computer. The phone can instantly run applications while browsing the internet and loading games or web pages instantly where as they might have taken other phones many seconds to load.

I am also happy that Sony saw fit to give the smartphone a welcoming and strong feel. Aluminium material has always kept me happy. The Z1 has also been given the ability to survive underwater while taking pictures and recording videos in the deep seas too. Sony released the phone being, like the Xperia Z, waterproof as well as being dust resistant. The phone can be easily washed when it needs it and finger prints from the screen can also be removed with ease as I have done many times myself. It also weighs only 170g so it is easy to carry around.

Unlike its predecessor, the Xperia Z, the Z1 has also been given a long lasting battery. That means that heavy games or games with high quality graphics that would reduce a smartphones battery from 100% to 50% in only about 10 minutes won’t affect the Z1 the same way. I played The Dark Knight Rises, which consumed 30% of my previous phone’s battery in 8 minutes, on my Z1 and I am pleased to say that only 10% of the battery was used after 10 minutes of gameplay.

So overall, from the moment I bought the phone from the store, I have been highly satisfied with it. So far it has not let me down and I don’t see if it ever will in the near future. Good job Sony! WebRep Overall rating
