Kids always get excited when Spring season comes. For them, it means they can go outside and play, do their favorite activities and enjoy the sunshine. After the cold Winter, the warmer weather gives them the opportunity to do things outdoor.
There are many activities that kids will enjoy doing. Whether you’re thinking of taking them to the park, to the beach or just staying in your backyard, here are some fun ideas you can do to make kids occupied without having to spend too much:
There are many types of flowers to choose from. Nurseries are the best places to look for colorful marigolds, begonias, irises, tulips, pansies and other types of spring flowers. Let the color of the season fill your backyard with blooms and foliages. Kids will surely enjoy planting them and seeing them grow.
There is always fun in blowing bubbles. It is a very enjoyable activity for everyone in the family and is a very popular party theme for kids. Bubble blowing packages are very inexpensive and are available in party stores in plain or flavored scents.
Have a Picnic
Head to the park and have a picnic. With the many outdoor activities for the whole family, everyone will enjoy eating, playing, biking, catching butterflies, flying kites and many more. Whether you’re celebrating a family member’s birthday or just want to have some bonding time with each other, picnic is a great way to get together.
Go to the Beach
Let kids play in the sand and make sandcastles or let them explore the nature by helping them collect seashells, rocks and sand. Put them in glass jars with lids and take them home. They make good decorating items in the house.
Shop at Farmers Markets
Farmers Market is very popular during the spring and summer seasons. This is the place where you can find homemade items such as candles, soap, jewelries and other things. When kids get tired from shop hopping, find a place to eat. There are vendors selling cold or hot foods everywhere in the market. At times, there are programs to watch such as group of performers singing and dancing. Kids will surely enjoy this activity.
Create Craft Projects
Help kids create a birdhouse. There are materials sold in craft stores that are ready to put together, or just build it from scratch. Have them paint and decorate the project, then put some bird feeds inside. Hang it somewhere in the backyard and let them watch the birds as they visit. Another great idea is to have the kids make pinwheels. Any type of materials will do as long they are strong enough to adhere the wind. Place them somewhere in the backyard where they can be blown by the wind and let kids watch as the pinwheels go rotating like windmills.
Vacation Bible School
If you want your kids to do something religious, enroll them to Vacation Bible Schools. They usually start signing up by middle of Spring. Sessions normally last for a week. This activity will give them an opportunity to learn about Bible stories and Biblical characters. They will also do craft projects and mingle with other kids. Inquire at churches near you.
Start making your plans now so you can do many things. Whatever activities you want to do, just enjoy, take pictures and have fun.
