St. Patrick’s week is just about upon us here in Stamford and while most folks only celebrate the day, here in Southwestern CT, we keep the party going as long as we can!
We start off with the parade itself. This year, Stamford’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade will be on Saturday March 9th beginning at noon. There is a slightly different parade route this year and of course, all of the downtown bars and restaurants will be overflowing (no beer pun intended there). It is possibly the best ‘people watching’ day of the year! Pints will be hoisted, music will be everywhere and people will be dressed quite outrageously for this day of celebration.
For info on the parade itself, it’s best to check on their Facebook page as they update it quite frequently: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Stamford-St-Patricks-Day-Parade/123527887818324?fref=ts

If you are looking for something in the line of traditional Irish music, on Tuesday the 12th the Stamford Center of the Arts at the Palace Theater will be hosting The Chieftans! These legendary musicians will be bringing the sounds of the Emerald Isle here along with guests: Low Anthem, Bagad New York and the Pender Keady Academy of Irish Dance. Definitely a night to get you in the spirit!! http://www.scalive.org/home.cfm
Celebrating with the Irish is easy here in Stamford-we have many Irish bars and pubs in the city.
