In the world of Treskri, fantasy is a reality. The main continent, named Tonoparic, is home to humans and dragon people alike. The dragon people called themselves “Xiekivi”, and usually have different appearances depending on their clan. For centuries, man and dragon lived together as brothers and sisters. But, as families do, they have their squabbles. The human race and dragon race wanted to know who came first in existence, to find out who’s the higher being. The elders of their world never knew, only the original dragons of the Ancient Days knew the world’s secrets and they were extinct ever since. Within impatience, the dragons and humans engaged in civil war, creating the Race War. The people of Tonoparic fought, until they were almost out of provisions. The war had to be put to an end due to the lack of food being grown back at home. With that, the dragons and humans agreed to keep peace. A few decades after the war, Tonoparic was able to stabilize, but the lack of food still needed to be dealt with. The famine soon faded as merchants took over the farming industry, traveling and bringing the world’s mysteries to the world became great. This movement of economics created a stable relationship with the Humans and Xiekivi, but they were still stern with each other from then on…
At the port of the city of Jennu-Narod, people flooded the streets of the bazaar. People arriving from other lands, and people buying goods of great interest.
“Enoch! Watch the stand while I get some lunch for us.” A tall man gestures.
The young man yawned, “Got it, uncle.”
Enoch stood there, and tried to sell his products. Even though not much people bought his things, he still stood his place.
“I guess people aren’t interested in books these days, they just want fine jewelry or ancient artifacts. Knowledge can be a treasure as well…” Enoch prattled in his mind.
Enoch then noticed a strange looking ship, “Hm, newcomers?”
The ship’s docking bay opened, and found a surprising site. Walking down the ramp, Enoch saw a young, blue dragoness carrying her luggage onto the port. Even though Enoch saw dragons before, this one was different. Her ears were big, her only clothing were a fur cuff coat and Grecian sandals.
“A lot more different than the dragons here…” Enoch looked at the dragoness unloading boxes, “More than that… She seems kinda cu-“
Enoch’s words were cut off by the massive thud of the dragoness’ belongings, Enoch saw a man knock over her stuff by accident, but didn’t bother trying to help. The Dragoness tried to get his attention, but only to have her pick up the mess. Enoch looked around, and saw that the people around just wandered their eyes off from her and continued with their business. Enoch took a deep breath and walked over. The crowd of people went silent as they saw Enoch walk up to the dragoness, it made him nervous, but he went on ahead. The dragoness took notice of the approaching young man…
Enoch cleared his throat, “Tir… wux… rigluin letoclo? (Do you need help?)”
The dragoness smiled and chuckled, “Thank you. Your dialect is off, but the words sound about right!”
Enoch’s eyes widen as he picks up a crate, “You can speak English without a dragon accent!”
The dragoness smiled from the comment, “I’ve been practicing since I was little, hopefully to be able to sell my merchandise to all people. Dragons and Humans alike!”
Enoch stacked the last crate on top, he noticed he was still being glared at from the people.
The dragoness took Enoch’s hand and shook it aggressively, “Thank you very much, I thought nobody would help me. By the way, I’m Anon. Anon di-Guawysvern, nice to meet you!”
Enoch smirked from her enthusiasm, “I’m Enoch Strügan, nice to meet you. You have a pretty name I must say, ‘Flower of Heaven’. It’s nice.”
Anon blinked, “You understand the Dragon Language?”
“A little bit, my uncle owns a book store. I like to read about almost anything, I guess selling books benefitted me with knowledge. Hehe…” Enoch grinned proudly.
Anon smiled from that, then a rock suddenly bludgeoned her head. Anon fell on her knees holding her bleeding head, Enoch turned to the people.
“Who did that?!” Enoch furiously looks around the crowd.
“Doesn’t matter boy, you get away from that Drak.” A man retorted.
“How can you hurt another person!?” Enoch helps Anon up.
“That thing is a creature, you can’t just treat it like it’s some kind of person!” the man laughed.
Enoch clenched his fist, getting ready to pummel the guy.
He then found his shirt being tugged on, “Please don’t, Enoch…”
Anon was a bit dazed, but she stood enough to walk, “I came here to have both Dragons and Humans come together… I don’t want to start something completely opposite of my goal.”
“Enoch!” Enoch’s uncle comes running to him, “What happened?”
“This girl was undocking, and then someone threw a rock at her head…” Enoch and his uncle carry Anon on their shoulders.
“Don’t worry dragoness. My store is nearby, we can fix you up there…” The uncle and nephew walk off while the crowd makes a hassle on the scene.
At the bookstore, Anon is bandaged up in the back.
“There you go, its good thing your bones are harder than a humans. But, keep that bandage on for at least a few weeks…” Enoch’s uncle puts some finishing touches.
“Thank you… You and your nephew are the first humans I’ve met that are kind to me…” Anon rubbed her bandaged area.
“It’s nothing, I’m Lucas Strügan by the way. Nice to meet a beautiful dragoness.” Anon shows a bashful smile.
Enoch raised an eyebrow, “Wait, ‘first time meeting a human‘… Are you from a land that doesn’t have human residents?”
Anon nods, “I’m from an isolated island towards the south, its home to many dragons. My family is actually the head clan of the island.”
Lucas raises his head, “Amazing, we have a regal dragon in our presence. What is a person like you doing here?”
Anon fiddled with her thumbs, “Well, it was an ambition from my grandpa. He said I was the only one who could create a true peace between Humans and Dragons.”
“So you became a merchant, merchants meet a lot of people.” Lucas smiled.
“Yes and my grandpa told me the hardships that would come to me if I should take his goal. I’ve prepared myself for anything.” Anon stood up proudly.
“Why do you want to do this?” Enoch asked with a concerned look.
Anon’s face was shining with confidence, “We can’t live without each other, if this world is full of hate, then let’s all take a huge bath together to cool off!”
The room was silent for a minute, and then Enoch and Lucas burst into laughter.
Lucas wipes away his tears, “I guess you can say that… Haha… Whew… The dragon’s area of the city takes a while to walk to. Especially if you want all your luggage to-“
“MY LUGGAGE!” Anon swiftly climbs out a window and takes off with her great wings.
Enoch and Lucas chuckle, “Enoch, get the cart and help her. Also, when you come back, prepare the guest room.”
Enoch nodded, and went towards the docks.
Half an hour later, Lucas finds a complaining dragon in his store.
“I can’t believe some of my stuff was stolen…” Anon pouted.
“Don’t worry, at least you got your essentials and most of your merchandise.” Enoch patted the dragon’s shoulder.
Enoch put Anon’s bag down, “Your room will be ready in a bit, so you can look inside some books if you want.”
“Wait, you’re letting me stay? And you live here?” Anon was both surprised and confused.
“Yeah, this place is home upstairs. Plus, going to the dragon’s area is dangerous to go to at night. So stay here for now…” Enoch went upstairs.
Anon curiously inspected the bookshelves as she hummed to herself, she took out a book on dragon lineage. She turned to a certain page, and smiled gleefully.
“Yup, grandpa is definitely here.” Anon put down the book on a nearby desk and took out another.
“Anon! Your room is ready!” Enoch called out.
Anon quickly put the book on the desk, and grabbed her luggage up the stairs.
“Woops, sorry!” Anon moved out of the way for Lucas, “It’s quite alright.”
Lucas found the books on the desk, “I guess she was interested…”
Lucas put one book away, and then grabbed the opened one. On its page, it was titled, “The Original Ones of the Ancient Days”.
Lucas smirked, “Curious one, isn’t she?”
Lucas puts the book back, “Dinner will be ready in a few minutes!”
“Okay!” Both nephew and dragon yell out.
