If you love breakast and even having breakfast for dinner at times you are going to love this edition of Taste of Home.
It immediately caught my eye at my local big box store due to the deliciously, mouth watering picture on the cover. What is the picture of? Overnight Banana French Toast Recipe submitted by Nancy Zimmerman from Cape May Court House, New Jersey. Bananas? French Toast? Yum, need I say more?
I buy about 3 magazine a year, tops. I am not the “I buy magazines every month” or the “I am subscribed to a 5 or 6 magazines a year” type of person. Do not let that fool you my house is definitely cluttered and I am going to be reviewing some “decluttering” eBooks soon. I might even take some before and after pictures if I dare. Back to the magazine.
The magazine’s contents is divided into 6 different categories:
- Hot From The Oven
- Skillets, Scrambles & Stovetops
- Pancakes, Waffles & Crepes
- Breads, Scones, & Doughnuts
- Cereal, Parfaits & Fruits
- Beverages
My two favorites are Hot From The Oven and Skillets, Scrambles & Stovetop. I will be getting the most use of the recipes in this section. The pictures are gorgeous and they give a wonderful idea of what they are going to look like. I am already planning my grocery shopping based on some of these recipes. Yes, this is how good these are. Even though I probably will not get any use out of the Cereal, Parfaits & Fruits and Beverages sections it is still a 5 out of 5 stars in my book. For a magazine that has 154 recipes and hardly no ads, it is well worth it. I need to forewarn you, I do not follow recipes to the letter. I have already come up with several variations to the recipes that will make them more to my liking and just that much more yummier in my opinion. I will be sharing those variations soon.

This magazine is composed mostly of recipes which are actual reader submissions. I just love that each recipe has a comment from the submitter and where they are from. It definitely gives a personal touch that I love and might have to log in to my Facebook with hopes of locating them. I wish that they might be willing to trade more recipes with me. These are recipes that are not made in kitchen labs with professional chefs that can spend 10 times learning how to do a specific recipe. These are homemade from homemakers like you and me. I am hooked on this magazine and I am actually going to subscribe.
Dear Taste of Home,
Please do not let me down. Plus, you are forewarned. Since I am going to subscribe, I am going to review each edition. Please give it your best because there is nothing more annoying than subscribing to a magazine and then realizing they were just a “one hit wonder” after the check has been sent in the mail.
With kind regards, Mayra C. Diaz
