Well, there’s only one place to start with the English national team and that would have to be the recent successful qualification for the World Cup 2014 in Brazil. Now although it’s great we qualified, England still managed to make a relatively easy group to qualify from a lot harder than it should have been. Some of the highlights of qualification you would have to say would be seeing how well some of the younger players played, the likes of Daniel Sturridge, Danny Welbeck and Andros Townsend to name but a few. Now these players when picked really shined out above the rest. Now although England has some very promising young talent, the typical England way of playing games still dominated, very boring, slow build up, with not much reward at the end of it, but it still got the results so I guess we can’t complain too much.
THE NEXT GENERATION OF PLAYERS
I’ve mentioned a few of the young players already who have already broken into the first team, but there are a few I’ve missed out, these include; Luke Shaw, perhaps the most promising young player in England at the moment, Wilfred Zaha and Raheem Sterling perhaps 2 of the most promising wingers we have currently, Steven Caulker a very impressive, and composed centre back, Ross Barkley and Andros Townsend who I’ve already spoken about. So just from the 6 players I just named you can already see the England team has an extremely promising future, and in my eyes some of the most young talented players in Europe.
I will now give you the team I think and hope to see play in the 2018 and 2022 world cup.
JACK BUTLAND
Nathaniel Clyne Steven Caulker Phil Jones Luke Shaw
Wilfred Zaha Jack Wilshire Ross Barkley Raheem Sterling
Saido Berahino Harry Kane
Now of course this team will not be the team that plays in the tournaments, injuries, new players coming into the fold, this is just a rough guess of the possible team that may play. However I would be extremely surprised if some of the players I have named in this team are not permanent fixtures in the future England side. Now with England having all this talent coming through the ranks, something the teams of the players and the F.A. has to make sure of is that they are nurtured correctly so that they can all live up to their high potential. If you compare the youth of England to one of the world’s better teams, such as Spain or Germany, then you would have to say that England are on a level playing field with those 2 national sides. And with changes that are being made to how England find talent is found and nurtured, the future looks extremely promising. And so to finish up, the England national team can look forward to a very promising future with some of the most exciting players in world football. And I believe in the next 2 or 3 tournaments England will win 1 of them, either a World Cup or European Championship, purely because of the young talent we have at our disposal. And so, here’s to England, we can look forward to some very exciting days.
Come on England.
