You will hear that the GOP compromised with the continuing resolution of March 22 2013 that allows the Federal government to stay open until September 30th, and that is factually true, but President Obama couldn’t allow there to be a shutdown and the GOP took advantage of the fact. Federal employees don’t get a raise again and the Federal government has nearly $1 trillion in cuts, which hurts the 99% and our security, but the GOP can crow they reduced the budget. We are approaching the debt limit when the GOP will try to shaft us all again while mouthing phrases suggesting they have helped us all. “There is a sucker born every minute” should be their party’s motto.
When the Democrats want an interview to go their way they go on MSNBC. The GOP goes to FOX to get friendly questions. Ryan went there, but even that couldn’t help. The article “Here we go again. Ryan says Obamacare must be repealed” demonstrates Ryan being criticized by a natural ally of the GOP. The article concludes “The House voted more than 30 times last Congress to repeal Obamacare, efforts that died in the House. Then the Supreme Court upheld the law. House Speaker John Boehner called it the “law of the land.” But apparently all that, along with the 2012 election, doesn’t count. Obamacare repeal is back, in Ryan’s mind, at least.”
There is nowhere else for the GOP to go. Every authority acknowledges that the “Affordable Care Act” is the “law of the land”. Individuals are benefitting from it and GOP Governors are making concessions to have their state’s citizens gain from it. Yet Ryan and others of his ilk still attack reality and hope they can get a few information free voters believe their misinformation.
Paul Ryan’s 2012 budget clearly devastated the 99% to benefit the top 1%.
The Apr 16, 2012 article “Ryan’s Budget Will Entice Us Then Entrap Us” described that Ryan possesses some Irish blarney, but if Ryan could have sold his budget with some pretty phrases then the 99% would have had some awful disadvantages to overcome. This isn’t a first in GOP hypocrisy as remember how Bush 43 celebrated our victory in Iraq with the “Mission Accomplished” banner in the background?
Ryan is promoting his 2013 budget as a solution for all of our problems, but the article “Paul Krugman: Paul Ryan’s Budget Plan ‘Has Gotten Even Crueler'” describes that this Ryan budget would devastate the 99% even worse. Last year the GOP depended on misrepresenting their policies because they couldn’t win on them.
The article “President Obama’s Fiscal Year 2013 Budget is Exhibiting What the Democrats Want and How the GOP is Obstructing Them” describes that the Democrats wanted the population to understand the differences between the two parties’ policies because the Democrats are the champions of the 99% causes.
The GOP can look you in the eye and like a practiced used car salesman make a lemon seem like your dream come true. Trouble is that when you drive it off the lot it all falls apart.
