Many experts say that a Zombie Apocalypse is a forgone conclusion. Someday the technology needed to raise a massive army of the walking dead will be invented and the world will be doomed. However, have no fear! With a bit of planning and forethought, a person can survive the zombie apocalypse and have a little fun doing it. Here’s a list of 5 vehicles that would help keep you at the top of the food chain: An Armored Car
Since the world is ending with blood and fire, obtaining a typical armored car shouldn’t be an issue. To anyone that grew up watching reruns of the A-Team, converting a Dodge Van or another boxy vehicle in to an armored vehicle should also be easy. However, obtaining a fully functional armored car is preferred. These vehicles have extra armor, coming in at over five thousand pounds when fully loaded, but also have other amenities. A typical armored car can run on deflated tires, a good feature for surviving the ever-evolving zombie army.
Late ’70s Dodge Ramcharger
A Sports Utility Vehicle before the term existed; the Dodge Ramcharger is one beast of a vehicle. Sporting a variety of engines, the best engines come from the late 1970s. Look for a Ramcharger that has at least a 360 cu V8 but try to hold out for a 400. These engines last forever, are easy to maintain, and are powerful. There is also a lot of room for a group of survivors to pack both bodies and supplies. Add a plow or ram on the front of this baby and zombies will be falling by the dozens.
Not all Zombie situations call for brute force. Some call for speed. A good survivalist group needs a vehicle that can be used for scouting or escape. The Kawasaki Ninja motor cycle is a fast street bike that has a lot of power and is very maneuverable. It can be used for scouting urban environments, since cities and towns will be a place every survivor group will have to scout for supplies. There is also the idea of the group becoming overrun with a variety of zombie types. The Kawasaki Ninja is fast, allowing at least two people to escape the shuffling hordes.
Military Grade Humvee
This is the vehicle needed for exploring the wasteland that the world will become in a Zombie apocalypse. The military grade Humvee is the vehicle needed, not the wussified civilian Hummers or H2s. These vehicles are made to survive almost anything, including the end of the world. With a ground clearance of sixteen inches and a mandatory plate on the bottom of the vehicle, a Humvee can go over obstacles that would make other vehicles weep. Crossing rivers, lakes and ponds will be no issue either. Every Humvee has a high air intake, allowing water to come up to above the window on a door. Every Humvee will make an excellent mobile weapons platform as well, allowing a recovered fifty-cal machine gun to be safely used on the back. What zombie survival group couldn’t use that?
Suzuki Burgman 650
This Maxiscooter has a lot of power hidden in a small frame. With a top speed of 125 miles per hour, the shuffle zombie horde will be shocked at how fast a scooter can go. This two-wheeled miracle also has plenty of room to store items needs on the go. Guns, food, maps, and grenades can all be safely stored under the seat and in the back. The scooter also has room for two, so if the driver finds another survivor, both can be safely transported away from the zombie horde. A survivalist also will look good while he or she escapes, since the Burgman comes in a variety of stylish colors.
