Shortly after I converted from the Standard American Diet (SAD) to the raw vegan diet, I experienced significant benefits that convinced me that this is the correct path for me to be on. In recognizing that more and more people will make the decision to embrace raw veganism as time goes on, I am aware that there are several strategies these individuals can implement to make their endeavors more effective. Here are three:
1. Stay Focused.
Several years ago, my father and I had a conversation and he informed me that the number one factor that precludes individuals from being successful in their life is losing focus. In reflecting on this supposition, I find myself entirely in agreement with it. Moreover, I realize that the principle is as relevant to the world of raw food as it is to any other aspect of life. To be specific, there are many factors that can draw a new raw vegan’s attention away from the diet and subsequently cause her or him to resume eating a SAD. Some of those factors include the prevalence of media ads depicting cooked food like hamburgers and pizza as well as individual taste buds that are still influenced by the food one consumed in previous eras. With these distracting factors in place, it is important for new raw vegans to stay focused as they begin their new diet. How can this be done effectively? By continually thinking about the reasons one has adopted the raw vegan diet, creating a meal plan comprised of raw foods, and sticking to it.
2. Take What You’re Doing Seriously.
As you may know, most of the world’s population does not eat a raw vegan diet. In fact, many people are adamantly opposed to it on grounds that it is weird, unhealthy, or both. In light of all this, you should note that many people do not take the raw vegan diet seriously. But you should. Why? Because if it becomes a thing about which you’re ashamed or embarassed, you are likely to start eating cooked, processed foods when they are offered to you. In order to take your new diet seriously, think critically about all of the ethical and nutritional benefits you’re reaping by eating ample amounts of fresh fruits, vegetables, and nuts while also refraining from consuming animals that were oftentimes subjected to violent slaughter before they became your dinner.
3. Never Stop Learning.
Just when I think I know everything about raw veganism, new data becomes available to me. And this isn’t a happenstance occurrence because I systematically look for new information. I encourage you to do the same thing because it can help you enjoy your new lifestyle more and more each day. One of the challenges that my persistent research helped me to eliminate from my own life was the trouble of gas. In learning more about the importance of things like eating slowly and combining food properly, I have been able to eliminate much of the annoying and periodically painful gas that I was experiencing. By continually learning more about raw food, you can make your own diet more effective also.
As I mentioned earlier, converting to a raw diet was one of the best life decisions I’ve ever made. And it can be for you as well. With that thought in mind, remember that there are several strategies you can implement to avoid pitfalls and drawbacks that can come to be associated with the diet. By applying the tips and tricks I’ve listed above, you can begin optimizing wellness and living a more productive, positive life today. Good luck! :)
