Now that I have been a raw vegan for a while, I’ve decided that it’s time to try juice fasting. In so doing, my goal is to detoxify and help further the process of eliminating my desire for cooked, processed foods. If you are also in the process of doing a juice fast, I wish you the best of success. In studying juice fasting, I have discovered that there are several things you should do to get the most out of them. Here are three:
1. Drink Freshly Prepared Juices.
In explaining why drinking freshly prepared juice is important, Natural Health Techniques notes that “Juice rapidly loses therapeutic and nutritional value during storage.” For this reason, they advice you not to store juice for more than 24 hours. In the event that you cannot drink your juice immediately, they advice you to put it in a glass jar that is filled to the brim. You should also cover the jar to prevent oxidation.
2. Go Outside.
The detoxification process that transpires during a juice fast can entail a plethora of mood swings and feelings of fatigue. Yet while you may feel inclined to curl up in your bed throughout the whole juice fast as a result of your feelings, this is probably not advisable. Instead, get your body moving by going outside and walking in the sun. Also take time to breathe in and out to promote feelings of calm while getting oxygen into your body. Doing so should help mediate your mood swings and generate happiness.
Although I read diversely during the preparation process for my juice fast, I am going to continue doing so as the fast continues. Researching the world of juice fasting is important because it can help you be more successful in your endeavors. Interestingly, there is a lot of conflicting information out there regarding how to conduct an ideal juice fast. For example, some online web sites advise against chewing gum during the juice fast while others say that it is acceptable. In reviewing the body of research surrounding issues pertaining to juice fasting, you can gain the knowledge necessary to make informed and helpful decisions that help you get the most out of your fast.
