Top 5 Ski Resorts for Families

by fat vox

This is the season for skiing. The nation has seen plenty of snow and cold weather and families need somewhere to go to get some bonding time over at the slopes. Question is, where are the best places to go if you want to bring your family skiing? Here are the top five U.S. ski resorts for families.

Jackson Hole: Jackson Hole, Wyoming

Jackson Hole is one of the top ski resorts in America. It’s located in Jackson Hole, Wyoming which is a valley near the Idaho and the Yellowstone National Park, and a portion of the Rendezvous and Apres Vous Mountains. Half of Jackson Hole’s terrain happens to be beginner/intermediate slopes. There is a ‘Kids Ranch’ where parents can pick up/drop off their kids. Jackson Hole is what many skiers call home and it is immensely popular because of the amenities and of course, the amazing slopes.

Telluride: Telluride, Colorado

Telluride claims to be the #1 ski resort in North America and I could see why. Telluride has some great deals going on now ($149/night) they even let kids, stay, ski, and rent skis for free. This is really hard to pass up, especially when you have beautiful mountains, an airport five minutes away, and once again that price.

Stowe Mountain Resort: Stowe, Vermont

Stowe is one of the more popular resorts in the New England area. Parents love the fact that they can get some alone time by dropping their children off and still allowing them to have fun on the slopes with the ‘Kids Lessons’ and ‘Teen Programs’. Stowe also has season passes available along with golf courses, and the ability to host a wedding.

Northstar California Resort: Lake Tahoe, California

Northstar was voted by Outside Magazine as the 2014 Best Mountain for Families. This says a lot as Outside Magazine is one of the leading adventure magazines. Northstar offers plenty of guided activities along with lessons for both adults and kids. Northstar is one of the more built out resorts, they have everything you could want (dining, child care, etc.)

Canyons Resort: Park City, Utah

Canyons Resort has a bold claim: the “Lowest Price Guaranteed”. According to reviews from many users and my own research it seems that this claim might have some truth as the prices for this resort are fairly affordable. Canyons Resort also is a Ski Magazine Reader’s Resort Top 10 resort for the second straight year. Overall, Canyons is affordable fun and it has some proof behind it.
