Becoming a Pharmacist

In order to be a pharmacist in the United States, you are required to have a PharmD degree. On average, it takes about six years in total of schooling for becoming a pharmacy, starting with two years of undergraduate work and another four years of graduate work to earn your degree. However, some schools help you get through the curriculum in three years if you work as a full time student.

Texas Tech University has a School of Pharmacy campus where they have one of the top rated pharmaceutical programs in the state. There are not just students in Texas enrolling, but all over the world. If you like schools in a fairly remote area without a lot of traffic, this school is perfect.

University of Texas at Austin

The College of Pharmacy sector of the University of Texas at Austin is another great option if you want to be a pharmacist, or a pharmacy technician. There are high rated degree programs in all areas of pharmacy, not just to be a pharmacist. Pharmacy techs also earn a great salary without spending too much time in college.

University of Houston

The third best school for pharmacy classes in Texas is the College of Pharmacy at the University of Houston. A large school with plenty of opportunity, it lets students learn all different areas of pharmaceutical studies.

The Pacific University School of Pharmacy

One of the best schools in the country for getting a Doctor of Pharmacy education is at the Pacific University School of Pharmacy. This is located in Hillsboro, SC and is part of the school’s Health and Education District. It allows you to get your PharmD degree in as little as three years, and is accredited by the ACPE.
