Christopher Nolan’s “Batman” trilogy was amazing, let’s preface this idea with that right there. I’ve watched “Dark Knight Rises” and “The Dark Knight” at least 20 times now. I love them. I am a huge Batman fan, I collect the comics, I collect statues and such, but what if the joker would have been in the last film? Here’s my thoughts on what could have potentially been. But let me say Heath Ledger’s Joker was by far the best Joker; I believe he will be the best one forever. At least until I die, but they could have got another person to play him; it’s done all the time. Sure, people complain but they’ll complain no matter what. Anyway, here is my plot for “Dark Knight Rises.”
Keep the same ending for the second film with Joker being captured by Batman at the end. Switch from Two-Face dying to living and caught by Gordan. Now, with the new funding from Wayne Enterprises, Gotham City gets a new addition, Arkham Asylum. Keep the fact that eight years has passed, but not that Batman has given up, he’s actually put a lot of people away over the course of the eight years and trained Robin, who is now Nightwing. The Asylum has been opened for the last two years and the cells hold a lot of crazy people from too much fear toxin, with the heavy hitters as well. Now, with the unveiling of a new construction dig coming to add onto the overflowing asylum, Natalia Ah-Ghul, runs the Wayne Construction company. But we don’t know that. She’s still out to finish what her father started, except she wants help from some of the craziest to throw Batman through a loop. Bane enters the picture as the one who blows up the wall by the side of the construction dig. Now with the inmates escaping, Batman and Nightwing are busy trying to round them back up. But it’s proving difficult.
With no help from the outside world and still being threatened with a device that will blow them away, the city gets overrun. Batman now has to figure out a series of clues left by the Riddler to find Joker, because he thinks that is who is behind it all. Still not realizing it’s all Ra’s daughters plot. There’s an epic battle in the middle of the movie between Batman, Bane, and Joker, with Batman’s back being snapped, they leave him there and Nightwing and Catwoman take him home. It doesn’t look good for Batman, meanwhile, Nightwing and Catwoman start putting away villains, Two-Face caught robbing a bank in a gunfight scene with Nightwing. Nightwing keeps ricocheting the bullets with his batons eventually ending up close enough for a fist fight and capture.
Scarecrow preys on Catwoman weaknesses with jewels while Joker booby trapped them. Knocking her out with the fear toxin. And she gets taken. Batman heals, comes back, and starts whooping bottoms left and right. Now he’s figured out the plan, and he has to stop it. Nightwing and Alfred kept him updated with the outside, as well as news reports. Gotham is in chaos. Batman heads straight to the source, knocking out villains along the way. He gets there, a huge battle takes place between him and Bane while the Joker taunts and fights with Nightwing. Natalia reveals herself and true plans about the bomb. Batman gets stabbed; Nightwing is down with knock-out gas from Joker. Now it is down to Batman and Joker and Bane still up, going for the detonator and BAM! gets hit by the new Superman. Superman helps Batman stomp Joker and Bane. Batman thanks him and Nightwing stands up shaking his head, Superman, grabs the bomb asking Nightwing if he is okay. When Nightwing says that he is, Superman grabs Batman in one hand with the bomb in the other. He flies off with them and the bomb is thrown into space.
And they fly off. Nightwing goes back to Alfred in the Batcave, telling him how this man that flew showed up and helped them. Everything should be okay. But it’s not, there’s more problems in Gotham now. Nightwing has to solve the Riddler’s clues to where Catwoman has been taken and try to find Batman, but how? And that’s when the Green Lantern shows up and asks if he needs a hand and offers details on where Batman went.
That would have been a great movie, sure, I know there’s plot holes but when are there not plot holes in movies anymore. This would have been a great lead in to the Superman movie coming up and also a new Green Lantern movie, even though the first one wasn’t very good. And eventually they would start adding new characters through cameos like Marvel did and actually make an awesome Justice League movie. All these are my thoughts. I think it sounds amazing personally, but we would probably need Peter Jackson to direct this five-hour-long epic feature.
