What Kind of Bag Should You Carry for College?

by fat vox

If you’re like me, the moment back-to-school season rolls around, my shopper’s senses are rearing for a new bag to start the school year anew. Only this time around you’ll be strutting in a new crowd, that is the young adulthood of the college campus. That means it’s time to do away with the raggedy old bag of your high school years and be on the look out for your new statement bag. So first things first, what kind of bag suits you? Are you going to be investing in a staple piece to last you beyond graduation, or more of a simple solution to see you through those four years of lugging around school supplies? Let’s take a look at the different kind of bags out there and see which best suits your new lifestyle.

Tote Bags
Spacious and versatile, tote bags are the must have for any lady looking to carry all their collegiate gear while still being organized. Stash away your note ridden binders and pads in a hot pink tote or a sophisticated black. Get the same kind of storage from an everyday striped or flirty lacy alternative. Tote bags are especially useful for tending to your various duties after class. Thanks to their seemingly endless storage, you’ll look stylish while still getting the job done.

Book Bags
The classic method of hauling textbooks and loaded binders gets an update in a cute polka dot and muted floral pattern. You could also try this sturdy teal bag or lively zebra print. Now that you’re in college you want a book bag that will compliment your everyday look. Think about how much you have to bring to class and whether you want to invest in something that will last all four years. Now book bags are definitely the most spacious, which also makes them the hardest to maintain. Look for a style you enjoy that is also worth the money.

Crossbody

These miniature bags are perfect for any girl who’s looking to carry the basic essentials. A no-fuss solution for any on the go college lass. Try a punchy color or print that will make your little bag stand out. A neutral of course will compliment any outfit, while a neutral with fun accents is unexpected and refreshing. Crossbodys are a go to for those who prefer to keep their hands free or their handbag. Slip in a notebook along with your phone and keys and you’ll be ready for the day ahead.

Satchels

With the versatility of a crossbody and the compartments of a tote bag, the satchel is the more mature handbag for any young woman. The top handle provides a sturdy grip on your belongings, while the strap offers a hands free release from your handbag. A faux black leather satchel oozes class, and a slick blue will brighten up your look. A charming polka dot stands out, or go punk with a stark white. Neutral of muted styles of satchels will last you for years to come, while bright colors or motifs seem more youthful. Whichever style you chose, let your refined handbag lead the way into your young adult life.
