Are you the type of person that enjoys comfort as opposed to trendy fashion that may not feel as comfortable as you thought? Do you take great care to make sure that whenever you exit your home you are looking your best? Do you take a very long time to get dressed, and try dozens of outfits before you finally decide on what to wear? Well, you’re not alone; you’re not a specific type of personality or even a specific zodiac sign for that matter. The simplest answer to the questions above is that you are or were just like everybody out there at some point in their lives.
There are people who would never dream of leaving their home “undone” – meaning dressed up properly, hair precisely coiffed, make-up intact. We’ve all been there at some point in our lives, and some of us still adhere to those traits.
The most common description of a person that is or may be depressed is their appearance. While that may hold water to an extent, another fact is that they just might enjoy comfort without the fuss. Everybody has their own taste, style and signature.
We can go on and on about trends, styles and the latest “must haves”, but at the end of the day…it really comes down to what suits us best, what we feel the most comfortable in and what makes us confident. That applies to clothes, hair styles, colors and make-up.
There are women that may – without batting an eye – purchase fashion items at exorbitant costs, however; despite their love of luxury, they are fulfilling a need, a deep-rooted need that they portray in their style sense. That’s not to say that there’s a problem with that, no not at all. All of us need to fulfill some kind of need, at some point in our lives.
Some of us may thrive on shopping (a remedy for a slew of reasons, if you will), while some of us may unleash our appetite for delicious and comfort foods at some point. Some of us may become daring and try new trends, or old ones, and venture into trying out various colors be it clothes or hair; in any case, whatever the reason, style is always a part of our life.
What you wear in and out of the home says a lot about what your personality type is, your mood, etc., We tend to focus (which is most common and natural) on what we wear “outside”, but tend to overlook what we wear “inside” of our homes. Do you find yourself happy in your pj’s all day long? Or do you absolutely need to stick to some kind of routine and freshen up, dress comfortably but perfectly acceptable should somebody appear at your doorstep out of the blue?
We can easily link style sense to our own specific personality, traits and so on. This of course is not a revelation, but do we really stop to think as we admire or “people watch” of how that person feels, what they do for a living, are they single or attached, etc., In a second, we simply see them and their attire. The bolder the color the more attention they receive – obviously! Who isn’t going to do a double take on a person wearing a bright bold orange coat, as opposed to a person wearing a smart camel colored coat? What would that say about the person overall? The latter would be considered conservative, smart and reserved – to an extent; at least that is portrayed on the “outside”. While the previous person wearing the bold “look at me” orange coat indicates that this person is very confident, happy or trying to exhibit this aura on the “outside.”
What we wear, the colors we choose say a lot about our own personality, traits and characteristics. There are many that stick to one color for years and years, simply because they looked the best in it, and it was in style an x amount of years ago. What they tend to neglect is the fact that we do change, our skin tone changes, regardless of the style at hand; we should take some time to try out new colors to experiment with, and find out what suits us “now”. We can also try our most cherished and favorite color that we have been loyal to for years, and play with the color by means of various hues or shades of that particular color that we are attached and drawn to. For example: If hot and flashy pink was your thing decades ago, perhaps a light, pastel “kiss of pink” shade may be what suits you! Combine that with earthy tones and some creative jewellery that you like, and voila!
Even though a specific style may be the latest trend, that doesn’t mean it will suit all of us. We can use the themes, the patterns, even the colors and experiment until we find what suits us the most and complements our own unique personality and mood!
Thus, even though we may be risk takers and venture to wear the latest fashion staples, deep down we all have our own sense of style and unforgettable uniqueness. What is your style? Are you classic, conservative, bold, neutral, flashy, glamorous or trendy? It really doesn’t matter, what matters is that you feel completely great, confident and happy!
