Are you ready for the VMAs? I sure am. How about this performer list? I mean the greatness just goes on and on. I love that the VMAs are in Brooklyn and talk about no sleep til Brooklyn. I am too excited to sleep. There are also rumors that N’Sync may reunite on stage. I mean who knows? I predict this will be one of the best VMA shows ever.
Let’s talk about the performers.
Lady Gaga: The iconic loveable Gaga just released her new single “Applause,” will be opening up the show. According to her track record at the VMAs, she sure knows how to put on a theatrical production. From her hair, makeup and wardrobe, Gaga is incomparable. She marches to the drum of her own beat and I love it. I am beyond excited to see what rabbit she is going to pull out of her hat for this year’s VMAs.
Katy Perry: From big hair, big boobs, to big voice, Katy is a powerhouse. She just released a fabulous single “Roar” that has taken the world by storm. She has broken so many records with this chart topper, I cannot even keep up. Looks like she is scraping her old image of cupcakes and blue hair for a more mature look; and, she will premiere this new Katy during her VMA performance.
Macklemore and Ryan Lewis: Can I just say, I am in love with these guys. I mean they go from super catchy “Thrift Shop” to LGBT anthem song “Same Love.” I just admire their versatility. As performers, they are phenomenal at getting the crowd involved and energy to match. Macklemore and Ryan Lewis are visionaries who make their own path; so let’s see what path they choose for their VMA performance.
Miley Cyrus: Sweet Hannah Montana is all grown up. I can’t believe it. She has really transformed. Miley has embraced this new found confidence and it is shining through her music. Her video “We Can’t Stop” currently has almost 150,000,000 views on YouTube. She even surpassed YouTube King Justin Beiber for the top spot. I bet we will see a lot of twerking during this performance. Go Miley!
Robin Thicke: “Blurred Lines” has been scrutinized throughout the media, but people are still bumping this jam in the club. This has been the iconic song of the summer. With T.I. and Pharrell Williams on the track you can’t go wrong. I am looking forward to seeing Robin Thicke blow up the stage with his smooth voice and dance moves this Sunday.
Justin Timberlake: Timberlake has had an outstanding year with his album The 20/20 Experience: 2 of 2. It shows a more mature Justin in his singles “Mirrors” and “Suit and Tie” with Jay-Z. He will be receiving the Michael Jackson Vanguard Award at the VMAs. Justin has been killing the VMA stage since his N’Sync days. Who can forget the dance number with all the televisions and the song “Pop” with Michael Jackson? As previously state, there is rumored to be an N’Sync reunion, so I would have to say I am most looking forward to Justin’s performance this year at the VMAs.
