I am a frugal shopper all around and enjoy finding a great bargain and getting good deals whenever possible. This frame of mind doesn’t stop when it comes to shopping for my two dogs. I don’t limit myself to one specific store or website, but I have come to really enjoy ordering from Wag.com. They are part of the “Familyhood” of websites that include Soap.com, Yoyo.com, Diapers.com, Casa.com and others. Here are a few pros and cons that I have discovered over the past year of being their customer.
Fast and Free one to two day Shipping
I love that I can get a bag of dry dog food shipped for free and arrive the next day in most cases, once I hit the $35 mark. A 30-pound bag of Wellness Super 5 Mix dry food runs me a little over $50. I also purchase canned dog food, in 12 can packs. All of this ships for FREE! Most other sites will exclude food from their free shipping promotions, because of the weight, but Wag. Because I am in Pennsylvania, I pay sales tax, which is no different than in Petco or Petsmart, but ordering online allows me to save on gas to the pet store, and relax while I have my dogs’ food shipped right to my front door. It doesn’t get any easier than that.
There are times that I walk into a pet store because of a good sale, and the food that my dogs eat is out of stock. I can’t just switch the type of food, because a dog’s diet shouldn’t be changed abruptly, so I normally walk out of the pet store unsatisfied and annoyed. Whereas, Wag has everyday low prices, with occasional sales on certain brands, and they almost always have the variety I need in stock.
Wide Variety of Brands
I feed my dogs Wellness brand, which is all natural and free of by products and fillers. Although pricey, it’s well worth the cost to ensure my dogs, which are my family, eat a healthy, balanced diet. I am not speaking against any other brands, and can’t say that Wellness is better than another, it’s just my choice. Given that, Wag.com carries a wide variety of brands to choose from, including many organic and all natural brands. They also have a good variety of flea/tick medications, over the counter supplements, toys, treats, grooming needs, and pretty much anything you’d need as a dog owner.
Unbeatable Customer Service
I had a problem with an order last year, where a few of the cans of dog food arrived and were dented beyond use. I contacted Wag, and explained the situation. Without hesitation, they offered a credit on my account for those damaged cans. I also did not have to jump through a hundred loopholes or wait for 20 minutes in order to speak with a live person. It was a fast and simple process, and feel confident ordering with their company because of their excellent customer service.
There aren’t many Cons to shop with Wag. However, the first time I shopped with Wag was because of a really enticing “20% off your first order” coupon code I stumbled upon. They also had a 5% back promotion at the time that also drew me in. My decision to shop at a certain site is often determined over who has the better coupon code, promotion and/or shipping cost. After using my 20% and getting a bag of dog food and some treats for an incredible price, I couldn’t wait to order again. The problem was, there weren’t any returning customer promotion codes for me to use. So, I had to pay full price.
I often see other pet sites such as Pet Care Rx, Pet Food Direct, Pet Food and even Petco or Petsmart running great coupons, sales and promotions. If their prices beat Wag’s, I weigh my options and go with the cheaper one. However, it’s not often that I choose another company over Wag. Not many others can beat their lightning fast and free shipping over $35 for dog food, as well as low prices.
That reason alone keeps me coming back to Wag for all of my dog supply needs. I recommend all dog owners give Wag a try, and be sure to check at sites like Retail Me Not for a coupon code prior to ordering if you have never ordered with them before. As you can see, there are many more “pros” than “cons” to shopping with Wag.com!
