When my sister was first born, I felt like I had been blessed with a perfect little porcelain doll with a full head of flaming red hair. She was so cute! That is until I had to change her diaper for the first time and I realized it was not quite as pleasant or odor-free as it was when I played with my dolls. Yet, stinky and all she was the greatest thing to come along in my life and I would find reasons a plenty to love her. Here are just five of the reasons that my sister and I are inseparable:
Love from the Start
When I was eleven, my mom started working a night shift so I would help get my siblings to sleep by reading to them. My younger brother slept in the top bunk and my sister and I shared the bottom bunk. Although I was older, she would stretch out her little arm and cradle my head in her arm as if I were the baby sister. Even as a toddler, she was always there to offer her love and affection and over the years it has only grown.
Obviously from the above mentioned, my sister and I are not twins, but we are identical when it comes to shoe size and clothes. Guys would not understand the significance of this, but all you ladies out there now exactly what this means: way more clothing and shoes options! With similar taste in shoes and clothes, if either one of us needs something to wear for the night out on the town we always make sure to check each others closets before hitting the stores. This definitely helps us to save a pretty penny and who doesn’t like some extra spending cash.
Although I’m the older sibling, it seems the universe saw fit to gift my sister with the ability to wield a make-up brush better than I ever could. While this could be slightly frustrating, its great for me that I have a sister that is so generous with her time. Any time I need to step out, I have but to ask and I get glammed up for the evening without having to leave the comfort of my home or spending a dime. I consider myself very lucky.
Fun Loving Aunt
About five years ago, my sister did my husband and I the huge favor of babysitting while my husband and I went out of town for a long weekend. At the time my daughter was eight years old and she had just started making movies using her Mac computer. My sister decided to join in on the fun and together they made a remake of Cinderella, which had the whole family laughing into the wee hours of the night.
Life of The Party
People usually see the glass as either being half full or half empty. My sister has always had a glass is half full kind of attitude which has made for some pretty fun times. She never seems to let anything get her too down and always finds a way to make the best out of any situation. Whether we are out on the town or spending a night in watching movies, whenever I’m with my sister I know I’ll have a great time.
